Making Choices, Opening Doors
Making Choices, Opening Doors workshop provides information to families who have a loved one with intellectual or developmental disabilities. A workshop to help with the most important decisions about where to live.
This two-session workshop will help you develop your own solutions to lifetime decisions for your family member with mental retardation or developmental disabilities.
Fewer than half the families who face these decisions have made complete arrangements for the future. Now is the time to learn and to decide.
As a bonus, you will receive a notebook and information CD with a complete set of notes and references to keep and use. The Arc of Greater Cleveland will remain available for advice and support as you move forward in making these important decisions.
These questions will be answered in this two-day series seminar: When is it time for your family member to move out of the family home? How do you find a place for your child to live? What long-term support is available? Who pays for support? How do you choose a residential provider?
